Some 6 years the Warlingham Church in the Purley Circuit had a vision to provide reach out to youth in our community by providing new youth club facilities for these young people.
This work started by establishing a youth club for 11-14 year olds – and changed the focus to non-churched children. Good long term relationships were established with local schools and numbers quickly grew. The programme was varied on a regular basis to appeal to both boys and girls. In the following years the original youngsters out-grew this club and the need was identified for a separate group for older teenagers. That “Thursday Club” was started 2 years ago and is based upon the “Alpha” model of sharing a pizza meal and a talk. It now attracts 20+ older teenagers, some of whom now serve as “Junior Leaders” to the younger club.
We are seeing young lives changed as they hear the gospel of Christ for themselves and make a personal commitment. As a result we are now seeing teenagers who had previously gone to church coming on a Sunday morning and actively taking a leading role by helping to lead worship through music and drama.
We now employ a full time youth worker who during August is taking 23 young people to an 8 day Christian Camp is Haslemere.

PRAYER
George Muller once wrote of Prayer in this way.
“It is not enough to begin to pray, nor to pray aright; nor it is enough to continue for a time to pray, but we must patiently, believingly, continue in prayer unto the end; and further we have not only to continue in prayer , but we have also to believe that God does hear, and will answer our prayers”.
So as we celebrate 50 years of witness lets look forward in prayer with expectancy to hear what gods plans are for us in the future as we seek to share the love of our Lord Jesus Christ with others.
Please pray for Faith our new superintendent minister as she exercises her ministry among us.
Please also pray for the Methodist people of Fiji who experiencing severe discrimination from the government.
Lastly to mention that the Prayers of Intercession book in the crush hall for you to be able include the names and situations around the world that concern you.

PRAY AS YOU CAN
These words should bring encouragement to us to know that we do not have to use formal words to pray. That we can pray in a manner that gives voice to exactly how we are feeling. The invitation is to simply pray because this is an essential part of building our relationship with God.
It may be said that in prayer we are all beginners the challenge for all of us is to journey into prayer. This will in turn build up that relationship being always available and listening, we can draw strength and from that we can find guidance in all that we do.
It is said that we are all made in the likeness of God and that we are all unique with our own particular gifts. God has his own unique plan for our lives to grow into the person he wants us to be.
You may a have a particular place where you like to pray maybe it is a favourite room or chair, or in the garden, in the country side. Wherever it may be the challenge is simply to pray.

Prayer/Fellowship Groups Worship for all ages
(& Full of people like you!)
Early last year we took the decision to move from Wallington to Warlingham, this meant leaving behind a church that we had been worshipping in for some 40 years and where we felt very much part of a caring family Church.
We have been part of Warlingham Methodist Church now for 8 months with friends who all share Christian values – believing that God loves us unconditionally no matter where we are in life, and all we have to do is seek to trust and obey Him. We meet together at various times during the week, and on Sunday, we gather to worship together at 10am. If you come along you will find our church service seeks to include all, young and not-so-young, finding a balance between those how enjoy a more modern style and those who prefer traditional hymns. It’s never dull!
Feeling now more at home within Warlingham we find ourselves loved and cared for by so many new friends we have made within the life of the Church.
We have found that there are plenty of opportunities to be a part of the family whether our need is to be part of one of the 8 prayer and fellowship groups, the monthly ladies group or to come and enjoy a games afternoons or a cup of coffee and a chat on a Friday morning.
And for the younger people, our youth worker Helen (and a team of helpers) run a 11 to 14 year old Tuesday club, a 14 plus Thursday club, youth weekends at Haslemere and lots more. Do check out our website at www.warlinghammethodists.org.uk
SO THE INVITATION IS FOR YOU TO BE A PART OF OUR CHURCH FAMILY Love Brian & Carolyn and All at Warlingham Methodist Church

A rather moving reading from Ecclesiastes
To everything there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant and a time to pluck up
that which is planted;
a time to kill and a time to heal;
a time to break up and a time to build up;
a time to weep and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones,
a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace , and a time
to refrain from embracing;
a time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep and a time to cast away;
a time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time of war and a time of peace.
Contact us to talk it through and perhaps pray with you. We can help you with your own Prayer to Jesus or in finding where you are at the crossroads.
Lord Jesus Christ in the darkness I come to you;
Sorrow and anxiety fill my life
And it’s hard to find rest.
So I come to you, Lord Jesus
I bring to you the burden of my heart- it is to heavy for me;
